Hello, I am on a new laptop and have got one months free McAfee anti virus software. After that month is up, there is a charge for it to carry on.
Does anybody know of a free anti virus programme which is free forever and if so, could you send me a link please.
All the best to everybody for 2010

Thanks, no probs, not being rude at all.
I typed it in, but didn't want to plough through the many pages to try and find it.0 -

Avast, Avira and AVG all have their followers. I use Avast myself. However, there is now Microsoft Security Essentials as well. I have not used this one but it appears to have a large number of fans.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

Microsoft have their own free one now, which is good,

Also Avast and Avira are good.
EDIT: beaten to it0 -
I used AVG for years. I decided last year to change when I realised it wasn't doing its job properly. In group tests Avira usually comes out on top, so I switched to that. I'd also recommend the Comodo Firewall.0
