two carrie bags full of scoobie/ scoobidou strings. I cleared out my daughter’s bedroom and had a big tidy up for her birthday this weekend and found all these plastic strings under her bed. Since I don't think they will come in fashion again for a long time, have anyone here got a suggestion what to do with them? Is there any other hobby/craft where they can be used? It seems such a shame to throw them away and she doesn't want them no more.
There are allsorts of colours even glow-in-the dark ones. Some packets are not even opened (guess I can take those to the next car boot sale).
(I'm not sure this question is posted on in the right place)

Drop them in at your local junior school. Schools all ways after stuff for kidsYou can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

Does she like making bead necklaces or bracelets? I've found they make wonderful spare strings when you buy a bead kit.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

this might sound a bit silly, and dont know whether it would work, coud you tie them all together, and knitt or crouchet a bag out of them? I know people do it with old carrier bags..Work to live= not live to work0

That could be a good idea actually, I got thousands of different beads left from the scoobie craze as well. All I need then is the endings to clip it together.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote:this might sound a bit silly, and dont know whether it would work coud you tie them all together, and knitt or crouchet a bag out of them? It's not a silly idea at all. I remember in the 80's when I was a kid we made flower pots and stuff out of plastic bands (they were thinner and flatter then the scoobies) and we wraped them around a plastic round shape some how(cant quite remember). I'll see if i can get som knitting or crouchet patterns, it's worth a try. I got plenty of material.0 -
How about freecycling them? Someone might want to make something of them for fundraising, perhaps, so you'll be shifting clutter and helping someone else.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
