The web site, organized Christmas, when does all the hoopla start? Is it just the 6 week count down, or is there things to do through out the year too to make xmas easier? I am trying to be much more organised. :A

I've started things now by buying stuff I need when I see a really good price but I think they start the countdown after thanksgiving day, there's no real reason why we can't start now, only 6 months till christmas after all?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I started in the Jan Sales this year, also i do competitions, so any prizes that i win go towards in my Chirstmas presents box.
I have also started to put items of cleaning/tins of food away (as suggested on here) in a box, so i have a little spare cash at Christmas.
So its never too early to start in my books......Hoping that when I start looking after the pennies, and the pounds will take care of them selves :j0 -
I've decided that this year I'm going to go through all my crafts box and make presents. I hope my family like the pressies!Previous debt: £14K :embarasse Debt free: Sept '03

For actual Christmas preperation (gifts, cards etc) the website has a "Rudolph club" which happens on the 25th of each month. If you go and have a look around on the website I know that there are links to all the previous Rudolph clubs so far this year.
The "Christmas Countdown" starts around October 1st (but don't quote me on that) and deal mostly with Christmas Preperations and finishes in time for Thanksgiving so here in the UK you get a little bit longer to enjoy the hols.
There is also the Holiday Grand Plan (HGP) which starts on September 1st which deals with DEEP cleaning of every room in the house etc intime for Thanksgiving.
Personally, I followed the plans for 1 year and now I've adapted them to my own needs but keeping to the same time scale. They really do help and make Christmas alot less stressful.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
its my little uns bday a week before xmas so i have to be super organised... i also have to buy things from my mum to him for xmas and bday, from my dad to my mum, from my mum and dad to hubby.etc etc.. .i am sure u get the picturelol... gawd i even buy my own presents from mum and dad lol
i bought all my cards and wrapping paper in the jan sales along with quite a few presents, if i see anything i think he (or anyoneelse) will like i buy it and put it away, if i get a free gift i save it for santas sacks and/or party bags, there are lots of good deals at certain times of year so i keep my eye out
i always make sure i have everything for xmas wrapped before the end of novemeber, then i can make sure theres nothing else i need and if there is i run out and get it
i can then concentrate on his bday and when everyone else is runing around like headless chickens the last week i am mrs serene lol... this all started the year he was due and i had to be organised but truely it makes xmas muchmore enjoyable when u are not panicking about presents
and yes i know u have to have a large cupboard but i am lucky i have one over the stairs that little un cant get into and i put the whole lot in there.. its already packed and i said to hub i dont think we need to buy anything else for xmas now

we already have a rather well established christmas thread from last year.
you might like to have a read, its full of great ideas  i'll go bump it for you, to make it easier to findknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Actually I think it's a good idea to start now with the preparations etc... after all if you make anything that needs to stand for 3-4 months minimum then it's too late if we don't start till november
I am growing chilli's in the windowsill at home and hope to be able to make bottles of chilli oil and other herb oils for those of my friends whom I know enjoy cooking. For others I will make some fruit vodka liqiuer (sp?) and other goodies. Again these are best if left to mature and really absorb the flavours.
What I WILL need to start looking for is containers that I like... Maybe it's time I braved another carboot and looked for interesting bottles and jars
All that and then all the various freebies I have collected should see that I have a gift collection for everyone this year and one that I will for once feel very proud off!Sure a few people will get bought things but that is what my pigs back vouchers and £10 off no minium spend codes for various sites are for

We put money aside all year for christmas, and buy wrapping paper and cards in the Jan Sales. I try to buy most of my presents online now as it is cheaper.
Interesting newsletter on Friday from BBCs Working Lunch - even they are starting to think about Christmas. looks like they will be running programs with volunteers when they return from the summer holidays0 -
Started in January sales for this coming Xmas. Have cards, wrapping paper, stringey bits and some pressie ideas stashed away. Some of the pressies that I have collected are used throughout the year as B'day pressies, but I still have a huge pile left.
Don't wait......get organised now......and then sail through November and December whilst everyone rushes around like headless chickensBaby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
