Woolworths + Discount Codes Warning

Options
Firstly I'd like to point out, the next bit is 100% my own fault for not reading the T&C's properly.

Ordered kids xmas pressies from woolworths this morning, had a discount voucher, that gave me £30 of a £60 spend ( bloody brilliant )

Got confimation of payment of 30-odd quid, checked bank, and full amount of order has come out. Checked T&C's, and woolworths take the full amount of the order out of your bank, and then refund the discount back into your account,

I dont order much online, so I dont know if this is common practise with companies, But its just a warning to anyone wanting to take advantage of the offer, that you must have the full order amount in your bank.

Still waiting for my 30quid refund, no idea how long that will take.

Hope this is of some use to someone. x

    Woolworths + Littlewoods = LittleWorth :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Woolworths is part of the same group that Littlewoods, Very, etc belong to. It's common practice for them to take the full amount then refund the discount back.

    I recently used a £30 off £60 at Woolies and they refunded the £30 back 3 days after taking the full amount.

    Why? :confused: Littlewoods simply bought the rights to the name, they've nothing to do with the previous company and the way it was mismanaged.

    Like Bargainbabe said, I was refunded very quickly. I was over the moon with the voucher code as I have got my little boy a fab christmas present 1/2 the price I had seen it at Toysrus. Delivery a little slow - but that was fine. Would use them again.

    lol yeah if you're not informed that it's ran by other people then it might put people off.

    They bought the name on the assumption that the Woolworth's name still has some value which it probably does. They're also planning 200 stores across the country though...
