Complaint against Mobiles.co.uk/The Carephone Warehouse

I bought a phone from the Mobiles.co.uk in May 2009, unfortunately the phone started having faults (began 'freezing' i.e. none of functions would work, and would have to remove battery and reinsert it before ite would work) around July, I have taken the phone to The Carphone Warehouse (mobiles.co.uk is owned by the Carphone Warehouse) 3 consecutive times to be repaired.
Went to The Carphone Warehouse a 4th time to report that the handset was still 'freezing', and was told the handset would have to be sent to the Head Office of the Carphone Warehouse for their 'technicians' to have a look at it first before getting in touch with the manufacturers!
Have requested a new replacement as fault still exists after 3 chances of trying to repair the phone. To cut long story short, I'm continuously being inconvenienced by the whole situation!!!

They should have given you a substitute while yours is being repaired, hopefully you have this?
Vote with your feet - explain to the manager that you would never use them again due to the inconvenience of having to travel in there all the time and that the friends you tell all about it are also appalled. Simply don't use them again!0 -
Hi,
Do you still have the insurance from us?
If so, any CPW store will do a swap under this for you (called a "HAB Swap" if you want to get straight to the point with the store guys).

You should have seen the phone they gave me, in their own words "we can give you an replacement, but its a BASIC phone! My 12 yr. old niece would turn her nose up at me, if I gave her that kind of handset.
The Carphone Warehouse really were just going by the book, we will do our best, live with it!0 -

Regards,
I have insurance with another provider, but that is not the case! As the phone is still under the manufacturers warranty, and I have an email from mobiles.co.uk saying to take my handset to The Carphone Warehouse stating that it has been repaired more than three (job numbers were provided), that mobiles.co.uk are owned by The Carphone Warehouse, thus they will have to deal with. To me that is "passing the buck!!"0 -

The phone was faulty and under the terms of the warranty if it's been repaired 3 times then the OP is entitled to a replacement.
As the phone was supplied by mobiles.co.uk it is down to them to sort it out regardless of who insures itIt's not just about the money0 -
I personally have never seen it stated in any handset's warrenty that the phone will be replaced if it develops a fault three times.
I was under the impression that any replacement was done so that the customer does not suffer any more inconvenience and that it was upto the retailer if and when they offered a replacement.0 -
Have you emailed the manufacturer ? I found them much easier to deal with than the phone shops. My Nokia phone was replaced (not new, refurbished, but it worked) by Nokia with no problems. I never buy Insurance as they are ridiculously expensive and we generally have a pile of old phones lying around.0

CPW do not care whether you go back or not, in fact Brent from the York store accused me of trying to blackmaailim when I suggested that I would not go back unless he replaced the broken phone he had sold me.
I started court proceedings and they paid me out, but it took a lot of time and effort.0
