When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D:D:D weldcome welcome welcome everyone who's regular or new here today - if you've never posted before give it a go - it does really make you think about what you are spending!!!!! AND goodluck out there - lets do it to them before they do it to us people!!!

Morning all - no thread:eek: so thought I had best start one - being quick incase there's also someone thinking th esame things and we end up with two threads!!

NOM NOM
[STRIKE]Feed chickens[/STRIKE]
Wearing long stripey socks today for luck for DD and also cos its a boring grey miserable day and they give me a laugh
Lots to do at work

Big hugs and waves to all - hope you are all fine and managing to open your eyes on this lovely November wet morning.

Morning fay and all to come!
Not been around for a while - family visiting and general bedlam along with a bad back.
All back to normal now thankfully!

Have the day off school to go to my best friend's dad's funeral - its quite a long way away so need time to get there - school were very good about letting me have the whole day.

    So today's list...
    • All food from home (must think of something to have for tea later that uses stuff already in)
    • Put petrol in using Mr T money off voucher
    • Put dry washing away
    • Walk dog x3 (already done 1)
    • Write two lessons so I'm completely up to date
    • Drive sensibly to funeral to minimise petrol use
    • Phone hairdresser
    • Phone FP clinic
    • Check banks - moved £1000 tax overpayment refund to different account to make sure I don't spend it - am paying off a loan early with it
    • Checked quidco - £70 payment has finally been received by them so hopefully I'll get it this month - will go towards Xmas
    • Bought a load of Xmas pressies on the weekend and have moved the money from a little savings account to current account to pay for them - glad I put cash away every month while I was still working - will only have to find about £100 extra
    • Checked survey balance - only £1.50 to go before next £10 voucher
That's it for today - have a good one!
    January grocery spending - £82.73/ £120

  • Afternoon everyone,

and a special thank you to the ever excitable fay for starting the thread today:D. I love this thread too, just not had much chance to post recently.

Hugs to everyone who needs them, whether they are poorly, sad or those who just need a hug.

    Today I have/will

Taken ds to docs re painful foot, doc asked if we had ibuprofen, I shook my head sadly so she prescribed him a load of free ones, otherwise it would have cost me a bomb.

    Checked online banking. hmm:o
Paid dd fuel money, not mse for me, but it is for her
Went to morrisons and bought baileys, with £1 off voucher, so was a real good deal. Safely put up for crimbo
Lunch and Breakfast, stuff used up in fridge
    Dinner from freezer
Will ring friend in bit using free minutes to plan her week off:D
Had text from SIL re our seed order. £52:eek:. Still cant complain at £26 each for entire year. (told you it was gardeners !!!!!!:rotfl:)
I will go and hoover and dust upstairs, as it is already quite tidy and should be easier.

I will be back later to have a leisurely read of mse.

It is really dark here and its only quarter to two in the afternoon. So I have my rudolph the rednose reindeer socks on and my sparkly blue and pink scarf. Just to brighten me up...... and keep me warm.
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
