Leashold Flat Is is mandatory for Ltd Co to have AGM's or any other meetings

I am one of four directors of the management company (Ltd Co) for the block of flats I own. We have never had a AGM or any EGM but a new owner/director says the law is that we should have an annual AGM and possibly others in between.
So can anyone tell me if AGM's or EGM's are the rules. Usually all issues are resolved with an informal meeting of those who live here and over the phone for the two buy to lets that don't. Nothing in writing though?

Have a look at http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?type=RESOURCES&itemId=1073791050
I think the law changed relatively recently - it used to be the law that all ltd co's had AGMs (although many very small companies didn't).
It may also be in your companies rules (articles of association) stating when a meeting is required.
I was in a similar situation - generally all issues were resolved by chats in the communal stairway. However, if there was any major works we'd have a meeting - if you do this and write up a few notes and call it an AGM, everybody should be happy.0 -
Thanks felix and a good link.0
