Aarrgghh!! Charity auction in London - HELP!!!

Am arranging a charity event in London on December 1st and we have a handful of items to auction. The person I hoped would act as auctioneer has just pulled out.
Any ideas where I can find someone? The charity really needs to make as much money as possible off these very unique items.

you could try and contact local auction houses to see if one of their auctioneers will do it for free, for a bit of free advertising for them.
a local compare/comedian normally draws in the crowd, and makes them bid too....lo....Work to live= not live to work0 -
To state the obvious have you tried auction houses?
I know of an event that has a charity auction hosted by an auctioneer each year and you can really tell he is a professional.0 -

Apart from me, no.
(There are only 5 of us and 3 are allergic to public speaking. I'm already doing announcing and introductions and the other is launching the charity's new initiative. Hard enough running a small charity as it is without having to do absolutely everything. Children in Need don't have this trouble ):A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

I will try the auction houses. Being let down at 6pm on a Saturday sucks
It's a children's charity but with a sport theme. And I don't live in London so finding local people is difficult too
I need a magic wand.

Not many of them open on Saturday nights, but I'm trying.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

In terms of what? There will be 100-150 people there, we have an ex-England rugby star as Guest of Honour (but he won't do it) and about half a dozen really unique items donated for auction.
We're trying to raise about £40k (not just from the raffle, but from annual/monthly subscriptions and general donations).:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

Just wondered in terms of getting a celeb or local notable person to do it. The bigger the event, the bigger the prospect of publicity for the auctioneer and, therefore, the bigger the appeal to those who want the publicity.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Why dont you wait until Monday then.. .. .. ..When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0
