OK I had a baby 10 wks ago i have been waiting for my period to come and i started bleeding yesterday it seemed really heavy to begin with but i have just got up to settle my little one and have had blood literally pouring out of me like someone has turned a tap on. Bubs and OH are asleep. Anyway i have cleaned my self up and i am waitng for NHS direct to calll me back. It doesnt seem like period blood it is bright red and fresh and instead of stomach cramps i have a stabbing pain. I am really scared last time this happened i was hemoraging and had to go into hospital for a D&C surely this would have shown up earlier and not now!! I just feel like crying right now i'm not sure what i am going to do if i have to go into hospital who will look after bubs if i go into hospital the other kids are with their dad and my OH has to go back to work tomorrow and he cant get out of it due to the nature of his work. Why is nothing in my life simple i'm probably going to end up in A&E.
Anyway thanks for reading just needed to get that off my chest xx

Get yourself up to A&E, or phone your GP, and if there really is no one to have the baby today, take the baby in a buggy or car seat (and a bag with nappies, milk etc.,) with you.
The hospital will understand you couldn't leave a child that young, and will examine you with the baby there, until someone can come and help you - can you ask a family member or friend to help out until your husband has finished work?
This bleedng could be any number of things, but you do need to get it checked.
Good luck - and get some medical advice as soon as you can.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

hey lolly!
I had this with my first period after Jack - was about 7 weeks after the birth (I finished bleeding after the birth at around 3 weeks.
Everytime I stood up I flooded my pad, knickers and trousers - was going through a pad every 30mins. I had expected it to be heavy but not that heavy, when I went to the loo there were huge clots and the toilet pan was BRIGHT RED and the clots didn't disappear after I flushed
I also had smaller clots in my pad.
On the 2nd day I went to the docs and they said it could be a uterine infection as my tummy was tender, they gave me 2 different types of antibiotics and the bleeding subsided after a day or two.
I have just finished my 2nd period which was 3.5 weeks after the first and it was nowhere near as heavy but heavier than my normal period IYSWIM.
Get yourself to the docs - hopefully it's just an infection like I had.
Anyways, how's you and Joseph?! Get yourself on the Parent Thread - I miss you!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
