Good time to buy?

I have found a perfect holiday home - reasonable price (but I'll need a mortgage - remortgage).
Good condition but needs a little TLC. Not much.
Its been vacant for 6-8 months.
Its in a good location- and is adaptable with a bit of space round it
(tarmaced though which will have to be dug up a bit)
is it a good time to buy?

No one can answer that question except you.
Thats for YOU to decide.0 -
Any time is the right time to buy a holiday home if you can afford the ongoing site fees and want to use it for your o wn relaxation. If you can reach it quickly (so have the potential to go almost every week), then go for it. I would.
I've been looking at holiday homes and quite often just the site fees/costs work out at £300/month, so it'd have to really be the perfect holiday home, in the perfect spot, at the perfect price for me to do it.
But I can dream
That's all it'll be, a dream, because a holiday home is quite a major regular draw on your income so you really have to be able to milk it as much as possible.0 -
Define good time to buy.
Bottom of the market? Who knows. Prices about to double? Who knows. Need somewhere nice to stay and have the means to pay for it? Only you know.Been away for a while.0 -

Need to look up rates, insurance etc first though0 -
Whether it’s a good time to buy depends on your own individual circumstances and of course the purchase price
Is this an investment decision to let?
Then you will need to analyse the competition, what return will you get? is there demand in the area for holiday lets?
If it’s a lifestyle decision for holidays then that’s a different story.
Also consider the impending holiday let tax changes.
