Own a car park? Don't let pcn-uk run it is my opinion

If you own a car park and are thinking of using a private company to run it, would you want a company that a) Cannot spell b) have a website that contains falsehoods

Have a look at their website, apart from the bad spelling it contains information that it states as fact which are actually incorrect. The reality of the law is that they can only bill the driver of the car not teh registered keeper. The driver of the car is the only person who can read the parking signs and agree to them by packing their.PCN have no authority to force the registered keeper to disclose who was driving the car.

They cannot send bailiffs (Or anyone else) around to the registered keepers home to take their goods. This can only be done IF they take someone to court AND actually win the case which is very very unlikely.

Ask them to give you proof of the people they have successfully taken to court (Their website quotes they have done this many times).

So ask yourself, do you want to use a company that relies has a website containing many falsehoods. How would they treat your valued customers and what would they say to them over the phone. What would happen if a customer received a ticket and went to the local or national press and the company you had chosen to deal with were exposed as miss leading your customers?

Think about how the above and no doubt other issues other MSE members will add could affect your business, can you afford to risk it?

I would agree, the principal will be responsible for the actions of their agent. Although the contract between them may indemnify the principal for financial loss it can offer no indemnity at all against criminal liability. Additionally the principal may have great difficulty actualising the indemnity.
In my opinion it also shows very poor business judgment and a complete disregard for regulations, statutes and customers.

The whole thing is a scam. If your company falls for it, tough.

Quite frankly I'm amazed he got a toehold in Gala, even at local level you would think they have measures in place to ensure no criminal activity is carried out in their name or on their behalf, very scary to know that a British Gaming company is associating it's self with this kind of busines I wonder if it would affect their licencing?

There's a bloke down our local called 'Big Dave'. He's done time and is quite handy with his fists.
He's probably more qualified than PCN-UK LTD to look after your car park.

PM me and I'll forward his mobile no. :)

.... and I know a man who has done doors (with all the right qualifications), has all his First Aid and crowd control NVQs etc - more tattoos than you've had hot dinners, looks like the missing link ---- and a degree in Russian and German. So he can spell proper and use words right, see. He's very well qualified to run your car park. He'll even help old ladies park ...

  • We find a tractor and a tow rope always solves the problem so don't need them. Shame when they're automatic though.

I wouldn't touch the jokers at PCN-UK or Uk Facility Services with a bargepole! Avoid at all costs!

I'm sure that anyone thinking of letting a company run their car park will definitely check out MSE as a source of advice.

    WHAT
  • I think the idea is that they may perform a google search to find out a little bit more about the company and all these threads will turn up in the results. But kudos for the sarcasm.
