Help! Buyer Pulled Out!!

After months of looking I finally find my dream flat which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. We made an offer that same day for the full asking price. Unfortunately the vendors sale fell through a few weeks later. I said I would be happy to give them time to find another place.
The EA called the other day and said that the vendor was finding it very frustrating as they were making offers but kept getting outbid and has decided to take the property off the market. I am absolutely gutted as I loved the place.
I want to write to the seller to say that i'm still interested and the offer would still stand and that they could have more time to look. Is this completely unorthodox or would this be acceptable?
