Don't think anyone really has any idea, no.
But as a guess, I would say yes, they will extend it.0 -

No. As the market doesn't appear to require support at the moment.
Generates some much needed tax revenue as well.0 -

That's what a lot thought about the scrappage scheme.
Then they decided to extend it!
I think the election is key. Labour do not want anything to upset the apple cart at the moment. If they can help get house prices back up to peak they will call that success. Taking money out of peoples pockets before an election is something I personally do not think Labour will be willing to do.
Hopefully, I will be wrong.0 -
Should they end it? Prices soaring etc. In that case yes.
But...somewhat less than convinced recovery has happened imo - think it'll need extending tbhPrefer girls to money0 -
We finally found a house we really liked a few weeks ago and are now in the process of buying it. If our solicitor or their solicitor doesn't get their a*se in gear and exchange before 31st December 2009 I for one will really be hoping that they extend it for purely selfish reasons...0

but they are not extending the HomeBuy Direct scheme so maybe not.
Infact, when the HBD was launched it had the added bonus that the Stamp Duty Threshold meant a very high % of people wouldn't have to pay it. However a very high % of people won't complete on the HBD scheme until Jan/Feb/March 2010.......which means that they will now fall into the Stamp Duty Threshold.0
