Accommodation in Liverpool

I am looking for accommodation with parking for 1 night on the 5 Dec to see Everton play Tottenham on the 6 Dec. Budget is around £50-£70, the cheaper the better. I have looked at the Innkeepers Lodge (South) (North has no availability) which is in the right price bracket but cant find any recent reviews on it. Can anyone advise what this is like and would it be easy to get from it to Goodison Park by public transport as dont want to take the car to the stadium. Or can anyone recommend any other hotels/B&B's.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi

I know the area well so checked laterooms.com for you and they have the Express by holiday inn knowsley for £65 for the night of the 5th , free parking and less than 4 miles to goodison, also very east to find if you are not local, I'm an everton fan btw, so this just shows you what a classy lot we are, helping out rival teams fans :)

Hi travelgirl5, I am doing this on behalf of my brother who is an Everton supporter but as we live in Scotland, he has never managed to see them live, its a surprise for his 30th birthday. Ideally I would have liked to have got him tickets for the match against Liverpool but these do not go on general sale, so have no chance and have to opt for the Tottenham game. The Express by holiday inn that you mention is it easy to get to Goodison Park from there by public transport? I have absolutely no knowledge of the area whatsoever.

    Many thanks for your help

Friend of mine stayed in the Innkeepers Lodge South last year and it was perfectly adequate, although the room was a bit small. Its got a Toby Carvery joined to it so it'd be ok for a cheap and substantial dinner!

To get to the match from there, walk down to Cressington station (5 minutes), catch the Southport train (half hourly on a Sunday) and get off at Sandhills, where you'll find a row of soccerbuses waiting to take you to Goodison. You can buy a train ticket which includes the soccerbus, or else get a saveaway (dayticket) if you want to do other stuff (Ferry? Walk around city centre?). There are also frequent buses from outside the Innkeepers lodge into the city centre - takes 20 mins.

  • travelgirl 5 - Thanks for all your help, the HI Express sounds like the ideal place to stay. Do you know which bus he would get from East Lancs Road to Goodison on a Sunday?
  • travelgirl 5 - thanks for your help, I hope they win too and I am sure he will have a great day.

Have a look here! (seriously!). £35 pp inc brekkie, off road parking and easy short few minutes walk to Goodison Park (pan north a couple of times on the 'Find us' map to see how close Goodison is )and by all accounts a warm Liverpool welcome!!

  • The Eleanor Rigby hotel in the city centre is about £45 a night for a double room, and you can get a discount off a couple of local eateries when you stay there. About 8 minutes walk from Lime Street station, 12 minutes from the coach station, 5 minutes from Liverpool One shopping centre, 5 minutes from the buses which take you to the footy stadiums. Nice little hotel.
