This specialist health search engine was designed to help you find the kind of useful and interesting content that wouldn’t always show up in the first page of results from Google or one of the other standard search engines.
Search for a condition like 'Hay Fever' and you search results will be pre-sorted into useful categories like symptoms, treatments, support groups, blogs and pages aimed at doctors or specific groups of patients (like Children, Men's Health and Women's Health).
Andena, almost 10 years ago, I was found to have an extremely low platelet count. In fact it was at the life threatening stage and I knew nothing about it. I was put onto steroids which helped until I had the dosage lessened when the problem arose again. It turned out that my spleen was destroying my platelets. After a splenectomy, everything was fine and I now have a very healthy platelet count.
There are lots of reasons why your platelet count can be lowered and they are all treatable/curable. Please persuade your husband to go to see the doctor again and ask for a simple blood test and if necessary further investigations. It may be that it was only a temporary blip but it's best to be safe.
