I have a Phillips 42PFP5332D 42" plasma TV less than 2 years old it keeps switching off .. the blue power light remains on and I can hear it clicking after its off ... I have to switch the power light off then back on again and then it can then stay on for anything between 30 seconds to half an hour can anyone help? Thanks

Doing a Google search someone has suggested this below
Well it could be that your fan is blocked and or clogged. You can take a tweezers, turn the television upside down, and lightly pluck out the pieces of **** clogging it up.That should make your fan run and then your television wont overheat and auto-shutdown.Hope it helpedAlways looking for a bargain and to help0 -
Thanks Pete first of all I need to work out how to get it off the wall lol!! I have hoovered as much of the back of tv as poss to see if it helps but it didnt ... guess i better get a few strong men round to get it off my wall ... thanks for your help x0

Your more than welcome and I really hope it works.
If it can't be resolved then European law states warranties should be at least 2 years not 1 so keep that in mind but if the fan is clogged up being on the wall then you may be charged for repair!Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
ha ok I didnt know about how long warranty should be will look into it thanks so much0

I had the same problem with a Phillips tv about 1 year ago and it was also nearly 2 years old. Having done some research, I rang the supplier and stated that the product should last longer than 2 years and "was not of merchantable quality". Once I mentioned these words and the sale of goods act, the supplier stopped arguing and sent me a voucher to the value of the original purchase. Do a bit of research into the sale of goods act and merchantable quality, then speak to your supplier. Be prepared to stick to your guns and if you meet resistance, tell them that you are prepared to go to the small claims court.0
