Consumer Intelligence, a consumer research company, is looking for MoneySavers to let it know how much their car insurance has increased by in the past year. In return for the info it’ll pay the first 500 people £5 and enter everyone else into a lottery to win one of five £100 prizes.

If your car insurance is due to be renewed in November, you've received a renewal letter and are happy to answer the following questions, you can take part.
  • Who is your insurer?
  • How long have you been with it?
  • What did you pay last year?
  • Did you pay monthly or annually?
  • How long have you been with this insurer?
  • What did you pay this year?
  • Have you done anything that might cause your insurance to change eg moved house, changed cars, made a claim?

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What you’ll need to do[/title]
Go to the Consumer Intel site, answer the questions and enter your name and address (for the cheque to be sent to). It'll take about 2 minutes if you've got all your paperwork to hand.

Consumer Intel will email you within a week to say if you're in the first 500 or have won one of the £100 prizes. Cheques will be sent by post within 14 days.

Once you’ve completed the questions you may be contacted about other mystery shopping surveys, although you can unsubscribe if you no longer want to be contacted.

You can still take part if you have unusual circumstances, such as motability issues, lots of points on your licence etc. as long as they have been the same over the last year (or you say if things have changed). For more info on doing surveys and mystery shopping to make cash see the Boost your Income guide.

shame they only want Nov policies :( mine was renewed in Feb and I paid less this year - I thought that was normal for it to reduce?
  • Have done at least 8 of these consumer research surveys, offered money or to win 100GBP in draw, still waiting for cash! A fiver would be nice ;0)

Is it me or is this just a way to generate business for the Insurers. There are a set number of Insurers, you have to get a quote from them and your policy has to be due for renewal.

They will give you £5 for doing this, it would be interesting to find out how much they are receiving for channeling the potential business
  • Watch out for junk mails/tel/calls/e-mails on your subsequent renewals - I had one of these mails, and promptly deleted it..

This is not a fiver for 2 mins work !!
  • Is there a link to this?
  • Methinks they are just looking for personal details to sell on? I'll glady forego the fiver to avoid further spam and junk mail!
