Lloyds TSB/Call Credit

Options
Updated my current account with LTSB to a premier account recently. A few months ago I remember them trying to sell me an ID theft thing and this was through experian. I decided against it cos I check equifax. Now that I have the premier account its all part and parcel but now its changed to Call Credit - are banks starting to move away from experian now? x

CallCredit is cheaper that is all. But who did Lloyds search? Can you access your Equifax/Experian files?

CallCredit doesn't hold as accurate info and also no lender exclusively uses them (after the demise of Monument) so they are not to be trusted in the respect of accuracy! Always stick with the main 2 CRA's for getting valuable, accurate (at times) information. :j

no,think its just the cheaper of the three
  • I see, just wondered how it had changed from one to the other for the ID thing. I might not bother using it then cos I find equifax is pretty good for everything I need (it shows all my accounts)

I'm not sure who Lloyds searched for me - it wasn't equifax, so one of the other two. Its really funny tho cos in the bumpf that I got through the post this morning, Lloyds are really pushing up to date info that call credit provide ..... blah, blah, blah. I'll stick with wot I've got :j x

Lloyds usually use Experian so would be surprised to see them dump them to switch to CallCredit - hardly an ethical business move in my opinion!

A relative worked for them until recently....and a new partnership with Lloyds was planned...looks like LLoyds now use CallCredit. From their site....HTH

Callcredit has reached a strategic agreement with Lloyds TSB, the UK’s biggest unsecured lender, for the supply of consumer credit referencing services.
As a preferred supplier, Callcredit will provide Lloyds TSB with a number of data solutions for use in its customer management and acquisition processes, including Callcredit’s recently launched Over-Indebtedness Initiative, which allows participating lenders access to a unique method of assessing the affordability of credit applications before they are granted, and monitoring the indebtedness of existing customers more effectively.
Callcredit’s Managing Director John McAndrew commented:
“We are delighted to have been chosen by the UK’s biggest consumer lender to provide such a broad range of credit reference services. Lloyds TSB supported us from the beginning in terms of providing data and they have been rigorously testing and using our services for some time. This is a milestone in Callcredit’s development and further evidence that we are delivering on our promises to the industry.”
Walt Ramsey, Lloyds TSB Consumer Lending Managing Director, said:
“After carrying out a strategic review, it was evident that to better manage operational risk, we had to reduce our dependence upon legacy suppliers. Callcredit offers us information and technology solutions which are unique, cost effective and enable our organisation to improve its risk decisions. We are delighted that we have reached this agreement with Callcredit.”

    Well Well Well......

Excellent news assuming they specifically use CC because most people with adverse, have a clean CC credit file so really Lloyds should (to protect themselves maybe) use CC along with Experian or Equifax..... If they don't, well they may find that they will get an influx of customers!

Personally, I feel they will use CC solely (and exclusively) for internal lending decisions, the CC system is still not as accurate as the main 2 CRA's and as such, I don't feel Lloyds would be 100% satisfied with the reliability of the data supplied by CC. I may be wrong, however I do feel this agreement may be for internal decisions only (soft search)....

Not sure who Lloyds searched when I applied for an overdraft. No search appears on Experian or Equifax, yet I was declined due to credit scoring.

I might apply for call credit and see what they have on me.
