Can I transfer my bookmarks/favourites to a file for saving?

I will be making the recovery disc from my laptop. The hard drive is failing and I am looking to replace it. With help from you guys.:D

I have organized my files for pictures, documents and music etc ready for transferring to an external hard drive. Is there a way I can transfer my bookmarks/favourites to a file ?

Is there anything else I need to think about transferring to either hard drive or dvd?

I use a program called MozBackup. It backs up your history, your saved passwords and cached auto-complete entries. You can also use it to back up your emails if you use Mozilla Thunderbird. Very handy tool to have installed :)

'Favorites' for IE are stored in the following locations:
    • C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Favorites (Windows XP)
    • C:\Users\<username>\Favorites (Windows Vista)
To export them, simply follow these instructions.

Maybe worth downloading xmarks which was formerly foxmarks and saving all your bookmarks with them - it works with firefox and ie and its free - once you have relaunched your pc you can the restore all of your bookmarks again - it is also useful if you have more than one pc you need the bookmarks for
