I buy lots of my presents from car boots/jumble sales, does anyone else?
If you dont have set ideas on what you want to buy you can come back with some great finds.
None of my family know that I buy "recycled" gifts apart from my sister and some of them I think would be quite shocked

WOW you did really well!
I like a bargain myself and I'll buy from where ever I see one!0 -
wow what lovely great finds, this year I have done the same but also used charity shops and freecycle (I do tell them that I would like the item for whom ever I am intending to give it too, got some lovely gifts this way for the niece and nephew) I have also learned how to knit gloves so everyone has got home made hat, scaf and gloves this year0

Just got back from a car boot I managed to pick up a pair of Bart Simpon PJ's for a xmas pressie for my Son

I love bargains, unique gifts and clothes so would definately buy from anywhere including car boots and charity shops. I think those sort of gifts show you have put more thought into something they will love rather than just throwing money at the high street to get something they don't need or wantNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

I've got a lot of pressies from car boots and charity shops this year (did the same last year). Amazing the 'unwanted gifts' you find in January time.
Done well on kids books and toys for little grandson as well.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I went to a jumble sale yesterday, and for 50p bought my son a Brand New pair of festive boxer shorts from GAP still with label on, as a Christmas pressy.
Also found 'Good Morning, let the stress begin' wipe clean noteboard with felttippen, 50p a present for a friend it think.
Can't wait to go again.keep smiling,

I think with some people the mere mention of car boot sales and they shudder at the thought because of the stigma of second hand goods. I think for most it conjures up images of tat or dodgy goods, however as an avid car booter (not to mention charity shopper, ebayer and Freecycler) I love the thrill of getting a bargain! I don't understand people that don't, to be honest. You can get some really good stuff at car boot sales and I begrudge paying full price for anything now. Recently when I had my baby a lot of the stuff we got, bar a few obvious pieces, were 2nd hand and I couldn't be happier. My friend is the complete opposite and I shudder when she talks about getting one outfit for X amount from a high street store, and sit smug at the thought of having many beautiful outfits for that price, after buying stuff for between 30p-£1 per piece!
Many people sell on unwanted gifts at car boot sales so you can pick up some decent, if not new, stuff. I say go for it, I have had many things from the car boot which I have given as gifts and I wouldn't ever hesitate not to. I think it would be rude anyway for someone to ask "where did you get this from", as I don't think that's the done thing when you receive presents. I certainly wouldn't.0 -
Not bought from Car Boots to give as presents, but don't see why it would be a problem. Lots of new items are being sold at the sales just because not to the seller's taste.
I bought some recently released paperbacks at a car boot in the summer. Never been read, in perfect condition and only cost 25p each. Could have easily have wrapped these as a gift (but wanted to read myself!).0 -
Thanks everyone....I dont feel quite so bad now
Also adding;
Photo Frame £1 (New £9.99)
Purse £1 (new £9.99)
and also a red velvet skirt 20p (using fabric to line hampers)
Brown/deep red/biege cords 20p each (to make up throw for pressie)0 -
