We have a small family business and want to invest some of our money in a savings account which gets more interest than is currently on offer on our business account with HSBC. Most bonds and/or instant access accounts seem to be only available to private individuals. Does anyone know of any which are open to small businesses?

Kilkenny,
I also run a small business. I looked for some options and the best I found was with Investec. They are offering 2.4% for 3 months notice. This is their Investec 5 account.
They are also currently offering an incentive. If you are recomended by an existing account holder then you get £50 and the person who receommended gets £50. So if you want to open the account, then drop me a personnel message through this site and you can get £50 and so can I - no point throwing away money!
note there is a minimum investment amount of £25k.0 -
A bit like my other answer to a different post, it might be worth asking your (local) Building Society. A number do 'informal' business accounts / some others will do one off bonds / some have formal offerings - i.e. Bath BS is worth a look.0

Harpenden BS is a another example and you don't need to live near a branch.

Thanks everyone - we will check these out. Jon - If we decide to go for the Investec one, we will certainly do it through you.0

Thanks the account from Harpenden Building Society listed above is deffinitly up there 2% is a excellent rate concidering you get 25 withdrawls, only problem is it is only accessable by post or in branch.
Also not sure if its fsa regulated.
the best i could find was a range of acounts with a notice period.
secure trust bank 2.5% 60 days notice
investec high 5 account 2.5% 90 days notice min £25000
butterfeild private bank 2.5% 100 days notice min £50000
if you dont mind putting it away longer the best bet is a bond with standard life, you get 3.1% but is 9 months before you can touch it.
abbey have a savings account that pays 2% with bonus, but only allowed 1 withdrawel a year to get bonus.
if anybody else knows any top paying bonds or accounts please let us know.0 -
Sorry standard life is now 2.9% min 1k

The minumum opening and operating balance for investec high 5 is actually £50K.
harpendenbs does claim to be fscs covered.
scottish widows also do a 7 day notice account paying up to 2%0 -
Re comment above: Bath & Harpenden are both FSA regulated & FSCS registered.0
