Co-op Cashminder debit card now recognised as a 'VISA debit'

According to this thread (
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2006303), the Co-op Cashminder debit card is now recognised as a 'VISA debit', instead of Electron.

Just to let you all know, incase you don't go to the 'Budgeting & Current Accounts' sub forum.

    Looks like not all retailers have updated their BIN database to reflect the change.

    I think it's a good idea to talk to the bank an retailers concerned about this. It seems that other banks who offer similar cards to the Co-op Cashminder don't have this problem, including the recent switch over of cards from Maestro/Solo to VISA debit in Natwest/RBS.

    What is the six/eight digits of the Co-op cashminder debit card? Look at this website: http://www.barclaycardbusiness.co.uk/docs/bin_rules_september_2009.pdf If the number is in the 'UK Visa DR Card' column, it's a definately a VISA debit.

    Nah, just paid my congestion charge to Darling Boris and it came up electron.

    Still the tesco value of debit cards.....
    There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.
