Bristol to Leeds
Options
I need to make regular trips (leave leeds on friday and return sunday). Maybe once every three/four weeks.
Anyway, can somebody explain split tickets. I did read the guide, but I think it would be cheaper to go from Leeds to Birmingham and from Birmingham to Bristol. Am I right in saying I can stay on the one train. I am a tad confused
This is for next week but also future weeks...
I have a network railcard 16-25..

If you've read the guide, then there's not much more to add.
Your train must stop at the station where you decide to split the fares.
You can remain on the same train when you split tickets.
Obviously, the more stops on your route then the more possible fare combinations that are available. A lot of these (or all of them) may realise no saving at all.
As the guide says, it can be a very time consuming process.
It is up to you to decide how much time you want to spend.
I would suggest that your first stab at fare saving should always looking for Advance Tickets.
In my opinion, this where most savings can be made.

One tip is that Bristol to Birmingham, off peak, is cheaper split at Cheltenham. It may still be so peak - never had occasion to look it up.
Another is that travel via and/or splitting in London can achieve savings - advance tickets can be easier to come by that way0
