Looking for a short term loan, but think a better bet might be a CC with a good deal on BT's to current accounts.
Any ideas please on any others apart from Virgin that do this as I already hold this card..?
Thanks as usual

You'd get until 1 October 2010 with Egg. A 3% BT fee applies.

Sorry Moggles,I neglected to mention that as I have paid off both my Egg card and Mint card and closed them down around 3 months ago they're out of the question..
 Thanks

Yes, Egg will not consider applications from former customers for 12 months following closure.Sorry Moggles, I neglected to mention that as I have paid off both my Egg card and Mint card and closed them down around 3 months ago they're out of the question.
Have you considered the Bank of Ireland's Post Office card?
12 months at 0% is currently available to new customers on money transfers made in the first 3 mths. There's a 2.98% handling fee.
Also, 5 months at 0% on new transfers requested in the month of your 1st and 2nd anniversary

If less than 10 months, then a 1% fee for M&S Sterling travellers cheques might be worth considering.
 Probably less than 6 months,I'd say:j0

 Thanks-looks good.
I take it a BT to my current a/c is considered a 'moneu transfer'...just to confirm please.:j0

Really? It's 3 times the cost of the M&S deal...for an unnecessary 2-6 months more 0% (you said 6 months was "probably" long enough).Thanks-looks good.
No, it's a balance transfer. "Balance transfer" is defined in the T&Cs as either a credit card or overdraft debt that you owe. The words "that you owe" are important because they used to have a nasty habit of asking for proof of the debt, ie a statement, to be sent before they'd action the BT. Could be a problem if there's no debt existing in the current account?I take it a BT to my current a/c is considered a 'moneu transfer'...just to confirm please.0

Good question.Thanks-looks good. I take it a BT to my current a/c is considered a 'money transfer'...just to confirm please.
MBNA's staff refer to "money transfers" certainly, but when dealing with the Bank of Ireland, I requested a transfer of funds from my PO card to my current account and confirmed this would be charged at 0% before taking up the offer. You can't be too careful
 Very best

In a nutshell...Could I ask how this works...a link would be perfect.
 Get M&S card
Buy Sterling TCs with card from M&S bureau de change (in-store/online/telephone)
Take TCs to bank and pay in
 Withdraw funds
 In slightly more detail...
