what sells on ebay?

Hi, I'm relatively new on ebay trying to build up my ratings before selling laptop and an lg phone. Have sold some cd's and dvd's so far, got 8 +ve feedback. What else can i list that sells well on ebay?

I've noticed electronics sell well, and non-designer, second hand adult clothing not so well. Also books are better sold on amazon. I want to build my ratings but not at a loss, anyone know some lower value items I can sell off?

Also having read some posts about nightmare bidders and sellers, it seems paypal really just transfers the money and once it leaves the account that's it. very difficult to claim it back. Then they charge you for the pleasure of using them. What advantages are there to using paypal? What protection do they give, and what are the ts&cs??

Thanks
bad hair day...

    What sells on ebay?

    Basically anything!

Why not have a clear out of anything you no longer want and put it on eBay. Chances are it will sell.

The main advantage of paypal is that buyers like it and if you want buyers you must keep them happy. When I buy (and I do frequently) I actually set my searches to only see auctions that take paypal. 99.9% of my auctions are currently being paid with by paypal despite me offering a full range of other options.

As for what sells...do lots of research and you'll be surprised.

Kids toys are absolutely great sellers, Lego, Meccano, subbuteo, anything like that, given that it's a few years old it'll fly away.
    Good luck

Old moblie phones always do well! I've also just cleared out my wardorbe and am selling a bundle of old clothes - seems to be doing well!

People seem to love bundle/job lot items - so clothes, books, jewellery

    Good luck!

  • Vintage toys and games with easily losable bits sell well if they're all there and in good condition. Unfortunately, they seldom are. I'm finding 1970s leather bags (still occasionally found at jumble sales!) still selling well. Posh brand label and some styles of vintage clothes go well, but bog-standard clothes are often left unsold. Anything with the old-style Adidas logo is likely to be in demand - nobody seems to like the rubbish new logo!

I live in the south east and always think that there must be something that's a lot cheaper in france that I could sell.

The best way to answer your question is do a search for similar items to yours.

Pay careful attention to how they're presented and the starting bids. Also, see how many bids come in at the last minute.
