MOT tests can be carried out on your car up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing UK MOT certificate provided that a current MOT certificate is presented to the examiner at the time of the test.
On passing the MOT test, the vehicle will receive a certificate valid from the date of expiry of your existing MOT certificate.
All UK cars 3 years old and over require a valid MOT certificate by law. The contents and standards required are set by the Vehicle Inspectorate.

Used Nationwide and not had a great experience! I recently came across NSN who I had never heard about before. It seems to be a large network of independent garages all around the country. They do discounted MOTs and services and seem good value. I got my vw done recently and paid for exactly what was needed - the service and MOT and nothing else. Great experience with the call centre managing the job and even picking the car up and bringing it back. I was recommended it though a mate that had a discount codce of DAN. Gave me 20% off the MOT and 10% off the service. They seem to work on trust to get the business back rather than trying to find all the faults and hitting you with a big bill. Website is NSN0

The MOT Guarantee sounded good till i read the 'Whats Not Covered' bit
Appears to be the stuff your likely to fail on and happens to be the services they provide, funny that.
As for the stuff thats covered, you'd know long before a MOT was due if most of the things listed there had faults0
