Australia bound!

Hi
I'm going to Australia later this year for a 3-week holiday- yay!

I was wondering whether anyone could help me with a few things:

- Do I need to get a visa? My passport is UK. I've looked online and there seems to be lots of companies offering this service, but how do I know if I really need one, and how do I know these sites are official? You have to enter a lot of personal information and it makes me nervous!

- does anyone have any tips for finding cheap airport parking at Heathrow?

- Does anyone know where I can get cheap currency?

Sorry, a bit cheeky, but I hope you can help,

Thanks
Abby

I booked a room at Heathrow Travelodge and 3 weeks parking with Purple Parking using code TIPO (go through Quidco) for less than £50 for our trip to Australia in a few months time - all thanks to information on this site.

Perhaps in the meantime you would find the relevant articles in the Resource Bar at the top of this page helpful.

I was just wondering whether anyone had any advice about making calls/receiving texts from Oz?

I am currently with Vodafone, and I wondered whether vodafone passport would be best?

    Thanks

I was in Australia when something terrible happened - my father-in-law died. We were constantly having to call home and make arrangements. We had Vodafone Passport at the time and it totally saved our bacon. No I don't know the Vodafone man, but I can say from me, a bog standard MSE member, that it was definitely worth having, both in terms of calls and texts. Coverage was pretty good too.
