I'm not posting about a win but just wanted to say a big thank you to all the lovely and wonderful people on this forum.
I have just posted a genuine question for advice on the benefits and tax credits forum and one response back was just so awful (in my view). It was very negative and extremely judgemental and not what i was expecting at all, Needless to say I dont think it was at all in the spirit of MSE and i will not be going back to that forum for any help.
I am quite shocked and it has made me even more grateful for this wonderful forum and its members who are all so giving and loving and supportive.
Thank you all so very much
My love to you all.
(rant over now!)

They can be a bit GGGRRRRR over there, i visited once, needless to say it was a once in a lifetime experience. The compers are a lovely bunch.
I have comped for about 16 months but don't really contribute too much to chat, yet i feel i could ask anything on here and not be treated with contempt.
I echo the op in saying what a lovely bunch of compers you all are.:D0 -
Nooooooooo!!!!!
Don't venture elsewhere on MSE forums, you WILL be eaten alive!
I have been a member of this forum for years but I've only started posting since I realised that the comps section was much friendlier than the rest of this place.
I have never encountered such a large number of bitter, judgemental and smug individuals in one meeting place before :eek:Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Sorry to hear about your experience rainy. Try not to let it put you off though, I'm sure someone will come along and hopefully be much more helpful to you.
PS. I agree with everyone that the comps forum is very friendly and helpful, if we could just enlist a couple of knowledgeable peeps from every other forum ie. technical, benefits, moneysaving, grabbit etc, we need never go anywhere else!!If at first you don't succeed ........Alternative autism therapies should be free!!

Hi rainy
I just read the post you're referring to and I thought it was totaly uncalled for and just plain wrong, as you pointed out! The other posts seem to have some good advice though so I hope you get something sorted. Or maybe the comping fairy will be kind to you

Yup, I ventured over to the families & relationships bit or whatever its called and some poor posted had announced her pregnancy and got shot down in flames for asking what she would be entitled to in the way of maternity pay etc ... I never went back!!
Its a shame that a some bitter people ruin it for people who generally want to help!Thanks to all who post comps!TWBMI2010:Wii, Money/Vouchers, Baby/Toddler stuffA [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE] C D E F [STRIKE]G[/STRIKE] H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z2010 - Jul - Book, Garden Games0 -
Oh good grief! Don't ever stray out of the Compers forum! I made that mistake a couple of months ago to ask a question, and got chewed up and spat out - honestly!
Some of the people were supportive and gave me constructive advice, but others were just plain nasty.
Will stick to the cosy comfort of this forum from now on and will never ever venture out 'there' again! :eek:0
