Ran some quotes on MoneySuperMarket and the cheapest by miles was Salaam Insurance, I even ran the quote direct on their site and still came out the cheapest.
Anyone got any experiences?
They are authorised and regulated by the FSA but what does that actually mean?
I'm concerned as to what would happen if I paid up front for my insurance and they went out of business? They don't seem to be underwritten by a large company

"Islamic insurance company, Salaam Halal, may appeal to UK based Muslims or ethical shoppers as it follows Sharia Islamic law." MSE
How can it be ethical if it follows Sharia Law? Ethical to who?0 -
It's run on a co operative basis0

How can it be ethical if it follows Sharia Law?
Are you saying that following Sharia law means it can't be ethical?DJFearRoss wrote: »Ethical to who?
Well it's run on a co-operative basis and reduced or eliminates the "legalised gambling" aspect of insurance. If you feel strongly about that then it would possibly appeal to your sense of ethics.
Happy to have helped. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
