Sounds fine - but why do you need the super-fast processor as a priority? You're obviously in the Turion category and not Phenom category of processors with a QL-64, so expect a 2008 microprocessor (albeit Q4) not a 2009 one. You're not going to get a desktop-benchmark processor like the Intel i7 9xx series which will perform brilliantly on benchmarks for Crysis - expect any reviews of notebook processors to be far down on these!! That said, it's a notebook not a desktop and your price range is competitive for a Q4 2008. I'd compare it to maybe a T8100 but it's such a rough guidance mark!

QL-64 is a good processor though, you'll have no trouble with it :)

    I said I don't need a super-fast processor! :-)

I assume it would be above a celeron, for example? Maybe equivalent to a core 2 duo? Excuse my ignorance, I don't know much about processors - just don't want to get one that is slow and that I'll be disappointed with. I don't intend to play games etc on it.

Never heard of CCL before - any experiences?

A quick google indicates they might be a company to avoid?!

CCL have been great for me with educational purchases, so no problems with them as a company.

I misread your processor part herman2811, sorry! The QL-64 is certainly of Core 2 Duo standard and as I said you'll have no trouble with it. Unless you're an absolute games buff, the laptop you've highlighted will be fine.

I thought the Turion was the Core 2 duo equivalent, not the Athlon?

Herman2811, obvious question, what are you planning on using your laptop for?.

AMD seem to like mixing up names. These QL processors are part of series of mobile processors along with a bunch of Turions (the RM series).
