Not a bad spec, though not massively superior to what you can already get from Dell for around the same price.

There's just so much mixed reporting about Dell and to be honest I can't risk being the unlucky one that has a problem.
I really had wanted a 13 or 14" with a similar spec to this Medion but have been looking for months and can't find one with a good spec for this money.
I don't have any more dosh if my purchase ends up being a dud so as my experience to date of electrical things from Aldi has been absolutely A1, I feel safer with this!:T
Just a question of getting hold of one as I understand people often queue outside from well before opening to guarantee getting to buy one. that doesn't please!
    Still, can only try.:rotfl:

There was a thread a little while ago about these Medion computers from Aldi, and not everyone was entirely thrilled with them.

Personally, I'd rather go for Dell (what is Aldi's technical support like?), but I'm sure the Medion will be fine.

I love their little note about the RAM though: "For computers configured with 4 GB of system memory, the full system memory space for computing activities will be considerably less and will vary by model and system configuration", after making a big hoppla about it having 4 GB of "working" memory.

As has been said, its not exceptional, and its low mid range as opposed to top end. I'd have a Dell over this.

    Sorry.

Looks pretty decent for the price. 3 year warranty too. I believe the 220GT is the never version of the 9500GT, so midrange performance at best.

Have to say I haven't seen a Dell of this spec at anywhere near the price.
Bear in mind the decent graphics, the size of the RAM, bluetooth, 'n' draft wireless etc etc.
It's got a lot of things most of the Dell's I've looked at don't have at least not at this price and that's the point really.
If you know of a Dell with as good a spec for the same money I'd love to take a look?
And don't forget the 3 year warranty included!:T

You can get a Dell Inspiron 15 with a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 250 GB HDD, 3 GB of RAM (which is all the Medion is going to use) expandable to 8 GB, and a three year warranty for £486, or £506 with a 320 GB HDD. It also comes in a range of colours for an additional £29, and you can add 802.11n wifi for £10.

The only real advantage the Medion has is its graphics card, which isn't really going to do much for you unless you plan on using it for games.

Sounds like poor aliEnRIK would be wise to book a month's holiday somewhere with no Internet, starting Sunday lunchtime.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

In my experience I've heard as many bad reports about Medion laptops as Dell. In the end you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Can you 2 weeks after playing with it, pop into a Dell outlet (10 minutes away) dump it all on the counter and say "it works fine, its just not for me" and demand your money back?

    I think not.
