Tesco doesn't deliver

On Sunday night I ordered a small electric item from the Tesco website. The website showed in big bold letters that, for such an item, I was in time for delivery before Christmas. I received a confirmation e-mail the following day. This morning I checked my order on the website and this showed that the estimated delivery date was 29 December.
I therefore rang them and ended up speaking to 3 people. The first told me that the order had been dispatched and was in the hands of a courier. She then put me on hold to check when I should expect delivery. When the next voice I heard was a male I knew that something was wrong. He told me that the goods were still in the warehouse and would not be leaving before Christmas. As he said that there was nothing he could do about the situation I asked to speak to someone who could do something and was passed onto a supervisor. She told me that whilst my item was in stock it was in a "reserved area" and due to "system error" was not available for dispatch. When I asked for an explanation of the "system error" she couldn't give me one. She said that the Christmas delivery dates were not a promise merely an estimate and that I should read the terms and conditions. She said that the estimated delivery date should on my order would not be possible and that I should expect delivery "in the New Year".
I now know not to trust the Tesco website.

Bl***y Tesco.com.
Ordered some groceries that supposed to be delivered last night but never turned up. Rang the customer service and the store to find out that because of their system's fault they cancelled my order WITHOUT TELLING ME and yet sent me an email to confirm the delivery time. I sat at home waiting for them like a lemon (no wonder I am all bitter now!:( )
Just made some serious complaints to both the Tesco.com and the store (no personal attack, just criticisied their way of handling matters).
NEVER EVER will I use Tesco.com again. :mad:0 -
Hello all, I am new to this site too, maybe you could help in my dispute with Tesco?
Long story short, my last delivery was due, I had a panic phone call from Tesco saying my bank had refused payment-eek! Contacted bank and they had not in fact done this. All I could do was supply my partner's card reluctantly. We had delivery, but lo and behold, my money had in fact been taken from my account, we had in fact paid twice! More than 15 phone calls and 2 letters leter, I am still fuming, have had a refund but no vouchers etc for the major inconvenience. Tesco seem bemused that I am still mad! Anyone know a good route direct to the most important person in Customer Services???0 -
I too had a nightmare with tesco I too only ordered three times and each time it was wrong with the last time being 4 hours late, melted frozen food and smashed fabric conditioner, as a sorry they refunded me half my shopping in TESCO VOUCHERS like I was ever gonna go in their store again. Getting the refund took lots of irate phone calls and finally a letter of complaint, the vouchers arrived over 3 weeks after the initial c*ck up. Steer clear of this lot I say0

What disasters
i'd not had anything delivered from Tesco till this week and that was only due to the £10 off i found on this site, to be honest everything went like a dream all arrived on time and in perfect condition, however reading this, i like from now on i'll not consider ordering again it seems like i was just lucky. will consider ordering from elsewhere now i think
