Sometimes OS is just too good for words

Hi everyone :)

I've made some good virtual friends here on MSE and that's even more true in Old Style.

It's my second home and you're all like good friends and family, though I guess, when I pull the Grumpy Board Guide Stuff, you're not quite so sure.

Ho hum :) Goes with the territory.

Anyway... that's not why I'm writing this post...

..I was chatting the other day on msn with a couple of Old Style friends and happened to mention that unlike my usual super duper recipe type meals I was having HM pate on HM bread with some water biscuits and HM lemon curd for pud. I was happy with that, honest, I don't have to eat posh or special every day. But...

On Sunday.

The On Sunday bit is the one that seems to have rung the bell...

..because my friends decided that I ought to have a proper Sunday Lunch.

It got delivered today. Honest. I kid you not.

Prawns for a starter... a smashing Irish beef joint, yorkies and veggies for a main course... and rhubarb pie and cream for pud.

Then there's a beer or two which is fine as an aperitif for us Yorksher folk, with wine as the posh bit while I'm eating.

All I need to do is work out where the ten jam doughnuts fit in.

Oh, and NOT forget to give Sally her special treat cat food.

Thank you loads and loads ya mad pair and you can be very sure that I'll put you over my knee at the meet. Front side up, 'cos it's more fun that way.

:)

I'm well aware that us Old Stylers help each other out when and where we can behind the scenes, but I'm just kinda full up and gobsmacked and choked.

I hope we never lose this closeness we all share between us.

Aaww that's just lovely, sometimes it seems as though we live in a very "self self self" world but acts and places like this restore my faith in human nature.

To the friends who did this what a lovely gesture, and Squeaky, enjoy your lunch!
