Form R85 Registering for Gross Interest

Options
I become a non-taxpayer (hooray) on Thursday. I have been trying to download the forms but they are still 2005 forms. Am I right in assuming that the 2006 forms will be available online from Thursday?

    Hi Hansi

As far as I can see you could use the form from 2005. I don't think they change it routinely every year (Could be wrong) because the form you complete for one year continues to remain in force until your situation changes. See section 3.3 of this link

I would download the form and complete it

    Hope that helps you

Any form will do just cross off the 2005 and put 2006 or no year, ensure its dated for the new tax year onwards.

Oops, I just posted mine today and sent off 2005 ones, but as you say, although I have broken the law for 1 day, come Thursday, it will continue from the 2005 ones... I doubt i'll get in trouble for doing it a day early. :)

I'll soon find out as I earn interest monthly.
I'll be keeping an eye out for that lovely word 'GROSS'.

I am sure the people at IR aren't stupid. They can no doubt tell a sudden influx of 2005 ones around about this date are really intended for those that are jumping in for the new tax year (and their new status). Doesn't take much to work that out.
