HSBC Regular Saver - halving interest on 1 July

I was in the branch to open a Regular Saver today and the staff advised me that the rate will drop from 8% to 4% on 1 July.

As long as you open it before then,it remains at the fixed rate of 8% for a year,though,luckily.

Thanks for the warning,i was going to take out another when my present one ends.Not worth it at that rate.

If they had any sense they would also double the limit to £500 also - unless they consider 4% ludicrously 'expensive'

Oh great. I have just opened a current account with them to get this as well and was planning to open it on July 1. Better bring that forward a bit...

Still there is the £50 quidco so it wasnt all for nothing.
