HSBC Regular Saver - halving interest on 1 July

I was in the branch to open a Regular Saver today and the staff advised me that the rate will drop from 8% to 4% on 1 July.

As long as you open it before then,it remains at the fixed rate of 8% for a year,though,luckily.

If they had any sense they would also double the limit to £500 also - unless they consider 4% ludicrously 'expensive'.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Oh great. I have just opened a current account with them to get this as well and was planning to open it on July 1. Better bring that forward a bit...
Still there is the £50 quidco so it wasnt all for nothing.0
