Hi Help needed.
Suddenly on my bank statement yesterday 6 separate lines of charges appeared. All around the 40 pound mark and 250 in total. Bit of a shock to say the least. A call to abbey later they said that I hadnt been charged monthly interest on my overdraft for the last 6 months so they were catching up. They said the charges hadnt been levied as there was a query over my address and statements hadnt been sent out but thats blatantly not true as i have the last 6 months statements inf ront of me. Im pretty sure I am laible for the interest as I run a decent sized overdraft each month but dont want the cashflow of 250 quid etc. Whats my best course of action - try to claim them back, negotiate a longer payment period etc.

I can't advise on this one if Abbey have had a problem with claiming interest because you did have the money available to you but may have spent the money that would have gone on interest. You could ask them to lengthen the period in view of the fact that it is £250 however I doubt their automatic systems could accept that.0
