Apologies for dragging this old thread up, but it's exactly the topic I want and I have discovered how to save a massive £160 by the click of a mouse and I want to share it with you! It's even simpler than the VED moneysaving tip!

I always used to use Eurotunnel's own website for the frequent traveller points. Mind you, a return price of £400 is even more than it was when it opened!

I have found that these four sites will sell me the same trip for under £250! (from £234 to £242) So presumably, we should use them! No risk of not getting the tickets, when we use the internet!

(aferryto.co.uk is linked to by lots of other sites...)

    http://www.ferrycheap.com/ibe.asp

    http://www.cheap4ferries.com

    http://www.ferrybooker.com

(the last two seem to use the same search engine, but ferrybooker.com gives you cheaper alternatives and is quite attractive)
(I'm giving up there, after 12 pages of google! ;-) )

I just booked my crossing with FerryCheap, who were cheapest, but noticed that, when I selected to pay by credit card, a surcharge of £4.60 suddenly appeared in the price.

Pay by Visa Delta or Maestro/Switch and the surcharge disappears.

I note that British Airways also charge a supplement for credit cards, but that Lufthansa don't.

    Another little money-saving tip!

I think you'll find that www.cheaperferries.com are cheaper than the rest.

If you dont mind going on a ferry, Norfolk Line do it for as little as 42.00gbp return.
