conveyancing online

Options
Anyone used and abused any of the following online solicitors?

looking more for speed over cost, but obviously low cost + low speed is the ideal.
legalmove.co.uk
anthony hodari- via netconveyancing.com
gordon o brien - via netconveyancing.com

Or any other recommendations? best local one so far which has been recommended as fast has a fee £100 over the lowest of these 3.

Thanks

You get what you pay for in my experience. A low cost conveyancing service could be very costly in the long run. Chasing contracts around the country, trying to get calls returned when they are supposed to be. Speak to friends etc who have moved recently to find out there experiences.

A local conveyancer will know more about your area and any little strange quirks there may be local titles etc, an out of area conveyancor probably won't know about such things & take a lot longer to do the same job.

We're using a conveyancer based in Norwich called Lambert Pugh. Mr Pugh is almost always able to talk to us, and when he hasn't been, he has called back within a couple of hours. So far (touch wood) he has been prompt at sending us the relevant documents and chasing up the buyers' and vendors' solicitors. I must admit I find it a little difficult to speak to his secretary as she tends to mangle her words, lol, but other than that we've had no problems.

(touch wood touch wood touch wood!)

The saving has been huge - the nearest quote we had locally was almost double what we were quoted, but then again Reading is an expensive place...

Good evening: We are using Legalmove...very professional and efficient..we complete next week...nine weeks from acceptance of offer. Can't say any more as must get back to our packing..let down by local removals company but that is a story for another time.

    Good luck.

  • I used Gordon O'Brien last year and his service was fine. I chose that route because of the poor service I have received locally with two different Solicitors and also the price. The only additional advice would be to keep in touch throughout the process regardless of who you use. Hope this helps.

We used a company called countrywide property lawyers https://www.cwpl.com when we move 5 years ago everything done by post online or telephone excellent service in fact they are currently dealing with a problem we have has with the developers. They are always available at the end of the phone and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. And best of all you speak to real people and they return telephone calls. They are based in northampton. I think they have set pricing check website. I would definatley highly recommend them and would certainly use them again .

I have recently successfully completed having gone via cheapcheapconveyencing.co.uk with no difficulties.
£275 +VAT for a £134.995 purchase, with an additional £50 cheapcheapconvenyancing referral fee on the bill. No completion No fee.

As they effectively work as an introduction agency you could end up with a completely different solicitors to the ones I ended up with. I have a direct line to the solicitor dealing with my request and either got straight through or left a message and had my call returned within 15 minutes.
