How do I fix a Block Carburettor?

The carb on my 1970s two stroke Solex bike seems to be blocked in that it is hard to start and runs at low power. I am pretty sure it is blocked internally.

Any suggestions on how to clear it please?

Thanks,

you will probably need to strip it down. and clean all parts and all ports in carb cleaner.

You seem to have diagnosed fuel starvation as the cause of the problem, but the carb may not be blocked - is enough fuel actually reaching the carb? There could be a blockage in the fuel pip leading to the carb. Have you checked that you are getting a decent spark at the spark plug?
