Tax - 6 months or 12 months?

Hello All

I need to tax a vehicle for about 2 weeks, just wondering if its cheaper to do 12 months and claim 11 months back or do 6 months and claim 5 months back? By my calculations its actually cheaper to do 12 months because of the 10% fee applied to 6 months.... Does this make sense?

Many thanks

Yep 12 months would be slightly cheaper. I'd do it for 6 months though as the difference would be rather small.

Remember you buy 'whole months' of tax so if your two weeks stretch over a month end you will lose two months tax on your refund.
