Coventry BS 5.1% and 250 free money

Just got to know Coventry BS launch this new product

5.1% interest paid monthly, and 250 free overdraft

just 1000 paid monthly, i think it would beat A&L

Doesn't beat A&L by much. 0.1% difference over a year is £1 on a £1000, and that's without checking whether it's AER or gross. £250 of free money would make £10 of stooze money over a year in a 5% gross payer. Plus A&L accept £500 per month and it doesn't have to be salary.#

I've got a LTSB and A&L account.

I'd say '5.1% or 250 free money' . You cannot have both 5.1% and £250

The main advantage as against A&L is £250K upper limit. The account is already included in Martin's article: Best Current Account

It's not a bad offer - just not signifiantly better than anything else available.

In my opinion Alliance+Leicester's service is !!!!!!! -- and I say that as one who has [windfall] shares in the company... I'd choose the Coventry any day.
