Anyone considered or using Zopa to lend money with >5% rate?

I've just joined Zopa so I can get my credit score for free, as suggested by Martin in his credit scoring article.
Meanwhile I've read up on how it works and it could provide a good way of making a higher rate savings account.
I'm a bit confused why it won't let me borrow (I don't actually want to borrow). It says that there are currently no markets for someone with my profile.

Thanks, saved me having to do the search!
So, people are pretty sceptical about it. I tend to agree.
I liked their clever use of MSE "I heard about it from Martin Lewis of MSE". Didn't say that he didn't like it.Happy chappy0 -
Zopa its not worth the risk....
The way I see it, you may make on one deal, two deals, but in the long-run your returns will be less than a no risk savings account as at some point you will hit bad debts regardless of the mechanisms they use to spread the risk... bad debts, are bad debts that WILL eat into your profits (interest), for that kind of risk I would expect 10 to 15% not 5 or 6% !
In which case why not bung it into a good dividend paying company or IT trust, more potential with less risk !0 -

The longest thread on Zopa is. "Neither a borrower nor a lender be! " in the Loans section, savers could easily miss it and not all is relevant to them. As Zopa has made a new attractive-sounding offer to savers, all the more attractive in that it is marginally attractive, i.e. not so attractive you think it must be a scam, but I can't see how they can redeem their promise I asked I-think-we-should-be-told questions. I find the silence from Martin, from Zopa, Zopa-informed or Zopa-supporters ominous. I concludedSo, unreliable borrowers, pile in there, Zopa is very kind and generous to you.
As for lenders, I don't think I got an answer but ah well, silly me, I'd said I'd watch not just what Martin said but how he said it, that includes what he doesn't say.
Watch this space for what it doesn't say.Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0 -

Baffling!
Though I wonder, might it, could it be anything to do with, did you include that avatar with you loan request or do you use it only for job applications etc.?Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0 -
Well, my credit score was over 450, so I assume that that makes me good credit customer. Maybe such customers expect better rates than Zopa can offer.Happy chappy0
