Cosy, sweet-smelling bed linen.

Options
Do any of you know an inexpensive way of making bed linen sweet-smelling and cosy? I have this memory of staying at somone's house when I was a child and sliding into a heavenly sweet-smelling bed and falling blissfully asleep.
My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!

If you see somone who hasn't got a smile, give them one of yours.

you could try some essential oil drops on either kitchen roll, a dried baby wipe or even an old flannel/pillow case, and fold amongst the linen. Try and avoid any stains tho on your linen from the oils.

Bold washing powder makes your bedding smell divine. Unfortunately I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to it so can't use it!

    I couldn't agree more.:T
Bedding that has been dried on the line, aired and straight on the bed is the best. :j

I was going to say about hanging outside too! That's one of my all time favourite smells. :)

That's true. But I find the stored sheets & pillowcases lose that fresh smell. It's ok if they go back straight on the bed but I like to rotate my sheets. Might try some home made sachets from our lavender bush once I work out how to dry them :D to pop in between. I find the flanelette sheets need to be washed again before putting them on the bed before winter.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Re the lavender - Just hang stalks in an open bag somewhere (used to put mine in the wardrobe so got the benefit of the smell anyways)

I agree re. the fresh smell of wind-dried clothes, but sometimes if people are very used to synthetic fragrances they need that little bit "extra". If so, you can try to add a couple of drops of May Chang essential oil in the conditioner drawer of the washing machine.

Mind you, I have found that over the years, after not wearing any artificial scented stuff (shampoos, cosmetics, deodorants etc) and not using any scented products around the house, I find even the mildest artificial smell a bit overpowering!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
