How well do you get on with them? Can you explain that it's disturbing your life?
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

if you own your flat and decide to sell, and IF you have reported them - you have to disclose to the potential buyers of any nusiances...a bit of a catch 22 situation here.

Like wigginsmum - try to talk to them without annoying them!

Ok, I'll be constructive this time.

Try talking to them about it first off, be polite and honest about the situation and non-confrontational. If that doesn't work, approach them again and invite them downstairs to hear the noise for themselves.

Do they have wooden flooring? If so, ask them to take their shoes off.

If it's music, then see if their speakers are just sat on the floor, if so ask them to put them on stands to reduce the noise you have to put up with.

If all else fails, you could contact environmental health and ask for their advice.

    Good luck

    hi

if its late at night or early hours (after 11pm and before 8am) then you can contact the police as its unsociable hours
but to avoid any rows i would try to reason with them first and explain the situation

We are going thro a similar situation ourselves, so my advice is talk to them first and then if you get no joy as in our case !! we contacted enviromental health, they sent them a letter, it had a small impact but i will keep u informed as to future developments!! good luck !!!!!!!

are you renting or buying? I notice you mentioned a Housing Association, if you're both renting from them, I would imagine there's a clause in your lease forbidding behaviour likely to upset or disturb neighbours. if there is, then your HA should take action. make notes of what's happening & when, & keep complaining. are there any other neighbours disturbed by them? if so, get them to complain to the HA too

last place I lived, 2 lots of disruptive people like this were evicted after complaints from everyone in the block & surrounding premises

    good luck
