1st credit and HBOS

Hi i hope this thread is in the correct place i only joined today so a little unsure how it all works.Anyway i have 2 debts with 1st credit passed to them from the halifax,up to now i have recieved threatening letters and one copy of an edited application for a credit card not the actual CCA.Interestingly the application had a completly different visa number on it to the one i had it also has 2 different dates and no apr ,monthly payments ect. They have asked for my response to this whether i agree to it or dispute it ,they have also asked for a copy of my signature which i most certainly will not be giving them , the copy of the application form also looks very suspect to me the terms at the bottom cannot be seen at all yet the signature looks as though i could have done it yesterday, some detaila have also been blacked out?
If anyone could give me any info or advice it would be much appreciated as i am sure that 1st credit have probably sent the exact same letter to other people:o

    Hi

I note that you have laready picke dup on the other recent thread on here.

You might also want to read. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1522177

Please complain to the OFT as they are in trouble for threaten legal action which cannot succeed if defended.

And I would send the 12+2 day letter I posted on the other thread, if you want to reply at all.

As you gather they are sending out application forms (which is often all they have and does not meet legal requirements) and it seems pretending to have the real document.

If they had the real document they would have sent it to you.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Thanks for replying ,i will certainly be reporting them to the oft.Had this hanging over me since the week before christmas ,they seem to enjoy leaving you hanging then they jump on you again making you feel terrible.I will send out the letter this weekend asking for my copy of the CCA ,is there any chance you have a template of the letter ,i saw one ages ago but cant seem to find it now, cheers and thanks for your help

    Hi

Very interesting since you are the third person in a couple of days. This suggests a proactive campaign at 1st credit. Please do report them to the OFT and make it plain you had not sent a CCa request previously.

have a read of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=963087

The letter in post 9 is what you need - to be sent out with a £1 postal order (can be traced) registered post (can be traced). Do not sign.

If they start farting about re signatures, there s a letter just above on the thread
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Many thanks for that no doubt i will have to use every one of those letters eventually, hope it gets sorted before the summer it gives me one less thing to think about
