Royal Mail New Bills Online Service
Options
I have just been emailed this by (of all companies) Royal Mail. It seems to be in principle a very good service and I am probably going to register and give it a try. The best part of what they offer to me is that you can see historical payments so keep track of what companies are charging (I'm always suspicious where Direct Debits are involved!)
My Questions
Has any one tried this?
What is it like?
Does it "do what is says on the tin"?
Is it easy to use?
Is it worthwhile?
Is it secure?
Here's some blurb about the service that was included in the email:
Royal Mail delivers millions of bills each week to addresses all over the UK. 12 million adults pay 400 million bills at Post Office® branches each year. Which made us stop and think:
You should be able to manage all of your bills much more easily.
We believe:
1 You should be able to manage your bills in one secure place - you shouldn't have to remember usernames and passwords for lots of different online accounts
2 You should get reminders when bills are due, well in advance, so you never forget to pay them
3 You should be able to easily see bills you've paid in the past
4 You should be able to view a calendar that shows when your bills are due, so you can budget more accurately
If you want managing your bills to be easier, the good news
is that now you can.
Bills Online is a service from Royal Mail that lets you access, manage and pay bills from telephone companies, energy providers, credit card companies (the list is growing), all from one, secure website - https://www.billsonline.com.
Make managing your bills easier.

The only quirky thing is that if you go to the main billsonline.com site, it says you have to register before you can go anywhere, and if you try to click on "Find Out More About Bills Online" it takes you to the same page again. Doesn't bode particulalry well for the website-building prowess... So I hope that the above link works.
If it's as good as it says it is, then I think it is an excellent tool to help manage your bills, and of course money!

This does seem like a good idea for those that have trouble managing their bill payments. Or as you say, you like the ability to see the history of payments (essentially tracking your Direct Debit payments) - although personally, I just do that by looking at what is coming out of my account.
Basically this is bringing all those online accounts you may have at the moment into one place - similar to how Egg Money Manager works I suspect, for tracking your financial accounts.
For info, the link you provided takes us to the log-in page. Here's the FAQ though which answers a lot.0 -
