ING Direct down 0.5% from today

ING have just shifted down today by 0.5%. New accounts opened from today will still attract a 1.48% bonus in the first year. Anyone who opened an account within the year will still have the bonus for the year that prevailed then as I understand it (I hope).

Thanks for the heads up. In the current market, you need to be constantly reassessing the best place to put your money to get the best rates and this news has changed things for me.

I shall not be moving my money anywhere. I used my Icesave ISA money to reinvest in an ISA from Scottish Widows only to find their rates drop to next to nothing over a 2 month period.

Isn't that a reason to move it?

Nat West was good for ISAs last time I looked, or Barclays if they accept transfers (I haven't checked)

Don't know where you are looking but there's no requirement to open a Barclays current account - http://www.personal.barclays.co.uk/BRC1/jsp/brccontrol?task=homefreegroup&value=16092&target=_self&site=pfs
