Hi I have just accepted my first mystery shopper assignment!
I was wondering if any of you know of any more agencies or anything I can register with to get mystery shopper assignments or things like that?

Let us know how you get on! I've always been keen on doing one but not sure if I'd have the time!
Good luck!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Hey Naomi - I'm with the Grass Roots Group. I haven't done one for a while due to the 5 month old, but I guess I must get around 3 - 4 e-mails a month at a tenner a go!
Good Luck!Jaelor :hello:

I am with 3 companies, but there are literally hundreds to join up with. Try Retail Maxim, Retail Eyes, NOP World. They are a good few.
I started Mystery Shopping a year ago, made £100 in a month, Now I have a turnover of over £1000 a month from Mystery Shopping alone. Not a bad second job at all! But my advice - If you dont keep working for different companies, this job had a finite life span because people do start to work you out after a few months. And boy, I have had some embarrassing exposes pulled on me by shop staff!
Also, if you really want to make this pay, you have to show dedication and build a rapport with these companies - If you find a niche, they will pay way over the odds to get jobs done if they know you are trustworthy and will go the extra mile. I do between 50 - 60 jobs a month at the moment.
Its hard work, But I am determined to be mortgage free in 12 months! I am lucky, I work an odd shift pattern in my main job, where I do 7 day fortnights. So i have 2 weeks a month to dedicate to this. But if you only want a few pennies. its amazing how many 'Lunchtime' jobs you can get done! Its not uncommon for me to do between 8 - 12 jobs in a busy day, and I have literally been all over Scotland now doing jobs - Islands, Borders, Highlands, Central Belt. 15 Hour days are not that uncommon when you get to that level of demand.
And you get plenty of freebies to sell on Ebay or meals which saves your food budget a bit too!
PM me if you want further info - Just stay off my shopping patch! lol0 -
I'm registered with a lot, but at only a tenner a job, for about two hours, plus travel, less tax.....I end up earning about £2 a job and it just isn;t worth it.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I'm registered with Gapbuster and Grass Roots. It depends on where you live/work etc I think. I work in the centre of town and am close to quite a few shops, so I tend to take on jobs when I either know I will be in town or can use the journey to get a few bits in at the same time. The foody ones are great as I sometimes do them on a lunch time so get a free lunch and get paid for the pleasure!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

The best website I can recommend to find out more is Channel 4

AlleyCat is right, it really depends where you live and work. There are lots of jobs in the cities but also lots of people after them. But doing jobs in batches makes it more worthwhile.
The price per job is usually pretty poor by the time you take in your report writing. But if you get a free lunch, or some free groceries, you are saving on the food budget for a start. So the fringe benefits make it more worthwhile!
One company I am lucky to get £20 a month from and do 2 regular jobs for them. But I put it into a Tesco Savings Account, and it pays for the Car Tax and Car Service. Another company only pays about £30 a month for about 4 jobs, it goes into another small savings account towards Xmas. Worked a treat last year to have the little pots building for known fothcoming expenses.
And dont forget, if you do this you are now Self Employed - So you are liable to declare it through Self Assesment.0 -
What exactly is a mystery shopper? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I dont know what it entails. I have thought about doing it in the past as it sounds fun and would maybe help with the income and also get me out the house.
Thank you for your help.

I am with Retail Eyes and get a few jobs a year through them but its usually tough getting them becasuse there are lots of people after them. I work near town so can nip in and do them on lunch break which is pretty good.
Also with GAP Buster but they require you to do loads of stupid online training before you can take part.

Define Mystery Shopper ......
You are asked to pose as a normal shopper on behalf of a client. You are usually given a scenario to act out (I want to buy xyz, I am on tarriff abc, Do you sell rst ....). During your interaction with the shop or establishment, you usually need to observe numbers of staff, customers, staff descriptions, store layout, time your visit, note responses, sample products, take photos of products, temperature check products, ask specific questions ......
No two jobs are ever the same!0
