I spoke to a company Claims Made Simple inJune 2008 with reference to claiming back mis sold PPI on two MBNA credit cards I have.I have held these cards since 2004 and never remember asking for insurance on these cards mainly because I am diabetic andknow they would never pay out on a claim.I filled in forms for Claims Made Simple and sent them of at the end of June 2008.I had heard nothing further from them until December when I received a lettr informing me that MBNA had refused my claim and they were referring my claims to the financial ombudsman. At the beginning of February I received word from Claims Made Simple to say that the financial ombudsmans office had told them it would be a further two months until they could ajudicate on this. The question I would like answered is does it normally take this amount of time.

Hi Loopland it can take up to a year I think they are being a bit presumptuous. It is a shame you were not able to do this yourself cause you would have gone down the same route but it would not have cost you anything. Why are the claims company going down that route. I wonder what you are paying thm for. Do you see what I mean.
Anyway fingers crossed that this works out for you.;):mad:0 -

Hi there, sorry I just posted on the other thread as well but never mind.
Right for a company to investigate they should respond by 8 weeks as this is the timescales they have to resolve this, if not if this goes onto the financial ombudsman this part can take some time, depending on how quickly the company act with the FOS.
The longest part is waiting for it to be passed on to a adjudicator, from here it can take a few weeks up to a few months, again depending if the finance company agree to the FOS where this will eventually get moved on to the actual ombudsman if still not resolved where they will make the final decision on this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
