Every time I see someone post a really large picture on a website I always try and show them this. The same goes to when my dad bought a brand new camera. He'd send me HUGE photo's which always needing editing so I could see them on my screen.
Now though, its much easier.
MicroSoft have launched a FREE image resizer.
Image Resizer (521KB) Download Link
Once installed:
Right click on the image you wish to use.
Select RESIZE PICTURES
Choose the size you require or click advanced for a custom size.
Click OK - your picture is now resized.
Now all you need to do is upload it/email it/ etc.
This is especially useful for when you want to add custom avatars to use on this website.
I have tested this program with Windows XP and its really good.
Any feedback appreciated.

i also have used Gif works, and like prrevious posters have said is is v. good
however for jpegs i tend to use
